I feel when I was reflecting on this a couple of days ago I didn't talk about a couple things that I felt I should have.
Not only is it easy to lose your focus this time of year but it can happen anytime of year! Its something that we have to be on gaurd for. As Lovizzle pointed out to me its also easy to prepare for those times of year that you know things are going to be crazy. Having time with God needs to be on the forefront of our mind and this DOES NOT come naturally. Its a habit and a discipline you must develop and its not without its rewards!
Also the other thing I have thought about is the focus of what this season SHOULD be about...and that is Christ Jesus who came to earth as a baby a so long ago with the purpose of dying for you and me. I think with all the giving and getting, parties, and tradition we forget about this. Sure we may attend a christmas service at church but is our celebrated really and truly centered on Christ?
Just some more food for thought.
