Review-Departures by Robin Jones Gunn

Robin Jones Gunn is my favorite author...Going into this I couldn't want to read another book about the characters that I have come to know and love! This book did not disappoint.

As always I devoured this book! I literally read it in one day. This book is 2 novellas in one.

The first novella is about the familiar oldest character that Gunn writes about, Christy Miller. In this novella Christy goes back to her home town in Oregon for her grandparents 50th anniversary party. Going back to her home town is sentimental and almost a little bittersweet for her. She does however look forward to seeing her third grade crush and through the whole time being in her home town she learns alot about love, commitment, and intimacy with the Lord.

The second novella is about another familiar character that Gunn writes about, Sierra Jensen. In this book Sierra is on a weekend vacation to a friends cabin for the weekend. On this journey Sierra also has some romance hoping to bloom but more than that God has some lessons in store for her. Its fun to see her in this book and on this vacation go from very confused to seeking God to having a God given wisdom and insight about things.

Overall it was another amazing book by Robin Jones Gunn! It has wonderful stories with Romance, some danger and thrill, tons of fun, and most importantly life lessons and lessons from God.

I would suggest this book to any teen girl in search of a great fiction read. Its not just a fun book with nothing to it this book has lessons that can definitely be applied to our own lives!

I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review
