Its something we all long for, strive for, look for, and want to become. In today's world there is such a fleeting and ever-changing definition of beauty. We work hard to look our best according to today's trends. We try hard to make our homes look like the pictures out of magazines.We try to out do the competition, our peers.
Why?
We forget who created us. We forget in whose image we are made. We forget who the true source of beauty is. We don't look up to the only person that we should be seeking to copy...instead we look to every book but the one He wrote.
Why do as children of God forget so often who are maker is and what He made us to be?
Our God made us in His image. He made us to reflect Him in our actions. He LOVES us and we are lovely to Him.
When we forget who our God is, We forget who we really are. We are what He made us to be. We are His beautiful children whom He loves. He loved us enough to sacrifice His son. His ONE and ONLY son...can you even imagine? He is our saviour. We are even more pleasing and lovely in his sight when we are obedient, faithful and walking in His ways. It doesn't take make up,clothes, interior design, and stuff to live a satisfied and beautiful life...actually those things won't do it at all!
We must make ourselves available to Him, obey Him and serve Him. When we do those things the word "I" in our vocabulary decreases and "He" (the Lord) increases.
"I must decrease so that He can increase."
And I believe that, that my friends is where true beauty is found!
